The Road (Yeah Write #246 Microstory)

He didn’t see it coming.

A loud bang, noisy like a bullet being shot, was followed by a sickening crunch; The car bonnet had collided with the boy’s back.

As the impact sent him sprawling across the road, the ball rolled away.

      You’ll see in a previous comment, but the first chapter of I Let You Go has been on my mind every since I read it. I think that’s where this came from!
